Marriage is that special day where every bride wants to feel special. Everything needs to be pinch perfect, from head to toe. Hairstyle is one of the most important elements of a bride´s overall get up. And what best than a classic bridal updo hairstyle?

Wedding day updo hairstyles for brides can be done in a variety of ways. From French twist to messy bun to half up half down, there are multiple fancy hairdos that can be applied on the hair, depending on the shape of the face of the bride.

Though there are so many different bridal hairstyles, the classic and most popular is the one that has a kind of French bun at the back of the scalp. For creating that perfect updo bridal hairstyle, the following steps should be followed:

1. The hair should be combed or brushed from the forehead and gathered at the nape. Some locks of hair should be left at the front, to be worked on later. The hair should be held towards the left, as if to put in a ponytail. The hair should now be held about 3 inches from the end. Applying hair wax is a good idea. The wax will keep the strands in place.

2. The second step is to twist the hair to the right and lift it. This will have the ends pointing up. The effect will be that of a roll or a twist at the back of the head.

3. The twist should be firmer now so that it is tight. All this while, the ends have to be held with the left hand. The ends of the hair will now be sticking out of the top of the head.

4. Now, with the right hand, the sticking ends need to be folded towards the nape. The ends should now be below and under the twist.

5. Using the left hand to secure the twist, bobby pins should be pinned with the right hand. The pins need to be strategically placed so that they don´t show. They should also be facing upward. Ample number of pins should be used so that the entire arrangement is tight and secure.

6. Now that the hair at the back is done, it is time now to work on the locks that were left. The locks should now be brushed or combed and pulled towards the left. After the entire lock is secured, just over the left ear, it has to be secured with bobby pins. As before, an ample number of pins should be used and arranged in such a way that they don´t show. The locks should now be attached right above the left ear.

7. The final step is to apply a holding spray so that everything is in place.
The look will be that of a bun at the back and locks arranged over the left ear. To create that look, some loose strands should be left hanging just in front of the right ear. That is all. The perfect classic bridal updo hairstyle is ready.

The best thing about the curly updo when it comes to black updo hairstyles is that there really are not any rules on how to do it. We can give you some basic instructions, but the final effect is totally up to you. You can make it sleek, or you can make it messy. The basic model is a curly updo, with a messy twist.

The main key to beginning to work up this half updo, our favorite of all the black updo hairstyles, is to begin with freshly washed hair, dried enough so that it is still pliable, but not so wet that the hair is still slippery to work with. Start by working at detangling any of the strands you are going to be working with, and at this time, if your hair is shorter than what would be used to make a pony tail, you might want to clip in some hair extensions at this time.

You are going to need a blow dryer set on medium heat, as well as a large flat paddle brush. Begin by separating your hair into 2 to 4 inch sections with one hand, while directing the blow dryer from the roots to the ends with medium heat. Work completely around your head from side to side, working with the individual sections until the entire head has been completely dried and workable. If you normally use styling mousse, now would be the time to apply a small dab and work it in.

You will now need to create your normal vertical part, starting from the hairline to about 2 inches back from the crown. After this, you will want to create a horizontal part for this curly updo that will extend across the back of the head, behind each ear. You can separate the newly parted hair into front and back sections, gathering the back into a ponytail with an elastic band. For this type of black updo hairstyles, you will need to select one strand from the tail of the pony, and wrap it around the pony to disguise the elastic band from sight, pinning into place with bobby pins.

Separate and curl the rest of the pony hair into 2″ curls for this half updo. You want to create loose barrel curls that you will be pinning up as you go. Continue with all sections of the pony until the curls are cascading down your neck. Once you are satisfied with the pony curly updo, lay the whole bundle against the back of your head, and pin into place with bobby pins.

Sweep the remaining hair into a face framing fringe, curling the ends if necessary. Discreetly place pins to hold the framing fringe into place, and to anchor it into the back of the style. Spray the entire style with a light hairspray, with a firm hold. Adorn with glittery accessories or a single flower, like barrettes to further anchor the sweep or some carefully strung hair gems.

This style can look stunning with dark hair tastefully decorated, and any formal gown you choose, be it off the shoulder or strapless. Coordinating the color of the gems with the dress can create a truly awesome effect. This style is so versatile that it can be done with tighter curls, just a group of messy strands, or a braided hair wrap around the curls, Grecian style. A truly customizable style for any occasion.

The classic pony updo hairstyle was first seen on the fashion catwalks as early as the 1950s. Not only is it the easiest to do, it is also the most versatile. Made popular again by current celebrities from shows like The Hills, the new 90210 and Gossip Girl, it is making a strong comeback for proms and other less formal occasions.

The current popular version is also referred to as the edgy pony and the messy pony, and how you work it is totally up to you. What we do know is that the result will be one of the most noticeable updo hair styles that will be the talk of the party for some time to come. The basic steps to achieve the basic pony updo hairstyle are fairly easy to do, and the only limit for this style is your own imagination.

This updo hairstyle is best done with newly washed, dry and prepared with styling product hair for the best effects and ease of handling. Use your fingers to direct hair from the front of the hairline and along the sides of the head up towards the top of the crown area. All of the hair should merge together into a tail formation. To achieve a super tight pony without wrinkles or bulges, use bobby pins and an elastic cord wrap. Once you tie the wrap around the tail, place bobby pins above and below the elastic to hold the hair securely in place.

Separate out a section of the newly created tail that is approximately 1 to 2 inches wide. You will want to wrap this section around the base of the tail several times to create a secure base, and place bobby pins strategically to secure the wrap in place. Use a brush to back comb the pony until it is full and lush, being sure to leave the top near the crown smooth. This is called teasing the hair, and in this kind of updo hair styles, it is an essential step for creating a variety of effects. After you have finished teasing, gently pull the tail of the pony towards the front of the head, centering it between the back of the crown and the front of the head.

Now it is time to get creative with updo hair styles. You can now create a smooth loop with the tail, creating the classic bun, pinning the edge underneath one half inch below the hairline on the back. You can twist it, using style mousse to achieve the proper twist, or curl it, forming the same wrap and pin. Another chic look for updo hair styles is to braid it, and wrap it tighter for a classic effect.

Another variation is to tease, twist and pull the pony towards the eyes, pinning it in place for an edgy and spiky crown. You can leave your updo hairstyle smooth and let it drape the eyes, creating a more punk style with the proper application of styling products.

However you want the final effect to be, let your creativity fly and you should be able to create any number of looks from the basic pony tail method. You can further dress it up with gems, flowers, or a set of beautiful enameled chopsticks. The final look will be uniquely yours, and if it does not come out perfect, do not worry about it. Slightly messy is also cool, just ask Paris Hilton.

Particularly in the state I live, a number of commercials run daily on local television to promote this hair removal product. I have to think that this is the first hair removal product I’ve purchased, and as a woman I must say that the products I’ve used in the past have been somewhat lackluster.
